The library offers programs for adults, teens, and children at various times throughout the year. Among the children's programs are a Summer Reading Program for children up to age 13 and a children's story time on Thursdays at 1100 and 1700. Call the library for upcoming events

Collections at the Kirtland Library include magazines, music CDs professional military education, (including the CSAF reading list), large print, test prep, fiction, nonfiction, biography, reference, and many language learning materials. In the children's area we have videos, audio-books, fiction, nonfiction, biography, reference, paperbacks, and easy picture books. In young adult, we have fiction, nonfiction, and some audio-books. There are subscription databases in which you can look up nearly anything in magazine and scholarly journal articles, as well as reference books with contemporary authors. There are 1200 audio-books in CD, Cassette, and Play-Away (both in fiction and nonfiction). The library also houses 900 current movies, classic movies, TV shows, and educational videos in both DVD and VHS format. Videos can be checked out for only one week. Anyone with a valid base ID card may check things out form the library. Checkout time is one week for DVDs and three weeks for all other materials.
There are fifteen computers for customer use, some with CAC readers. A computer linked to a scanner is available and all computers have color printers. The library provides free WIFI with no password needed. Scanner service is free. DSN and toll-free fax service is also available (local only). The Library staff is always available for computer and other serivce/product assistance.
